Patrick E. “Gene” Blanton

PARTNER

Gene Blanton serves as counsel to clients engaged in all aspects of the construction industry. He counsels clients on contract terms, project disputes, and claims involving changes in scope, delays, and defects. He has experience in both defending and prosecuting claims on behalf of clients that range from general contractors, owners, developers, subcontractors, design professionals, and insurers. Aside from his experience with clients in the construction industry, he also handles litigation matters involving partnership disputes, product liability, and personal injury.

Gene has served as lead counsel on cases in state and federal courts throughout the country, including Texas, California, and Louisiana. He has served as national counsel and managed local counsel in out of state jurisdictions for large commercial general contractors and a national solvent company. He has reached favorable results for clients through mediation, arbitration, and formal negotiations. He believes every client issue is unique and requires specific attention so that a resolution can be reached quickly and in a cost effective manner.

Gene grew up in the North Dallas area and currently lives in Lake Highlands with his wife, Jill, and two children, Piper and Levi. He bleeds the colors of the Cowboys, the Mavericks, the Rangers, and the Little Ticket. Aside from family, work, and his required sports watching allotment, he makes time for his German Shepherd – Bo Duke.
